Several hundred family photographs, consisting of varying sizes including 3 x 5, 4 x 6, 8 x 10, 11 x 14, and oversized. This collection also includes a small photograph album that contains several tintypes. The majority depict members of the Bankhead and Owen families including John and Will Bankhead, Miss Marie, husband Thomas McAdory Owen, their son Thomas, Jr. and grandchildren Betty and Thomas. The remainder are of unidentified friends and family, providing rich visual documentation for two prominent 19th and 20th century families. A large number of the photographs are fragile and the collection also includes a large number of faded photographic proofs.
